A few of the questions we hear most often. If yours isn't here, send us a note and we'll get back to you quickly.
Entry requirements can vary by destination and passport. We recommend checking the current visa and entry guidelines for your destination prior to travel. We're always happy to point you in the right direction if needed.
Many countries require your passport to be valid for at least 6 months beyond your arrival date.
Yes — we strongly recommend travel insurance for any international or significant domestic trip. We work with trusted partners and can send you a quote tailored to your itinerary, deposits, and any pre-existing condition windows.
Coverage typically must be purchased within 14–21 days of your initial trip deposit to qualify for the broadest benefits, including pre-existing condition waivers and "cancel for any reason" coverage.
Reach out as soon as you know. Most luxury hotels we partner with offer flexible cancellation policies, and we'll work directly with the property on your behalf. The earlier you tell us, the more options we have.
Some non-refundable rates and peak-season bookings have stricter terms — we'll always flag those at the time of booking.
We're available by email, phone, text, and WhatsApp at any hour. While abroad, WhatsApp is the easiest way to reach us. For specific in-stay changes — restaurant reservations, spa bookings, transportation, activity adjustments — please work with the property's concierge directly while you're on property; they're best positioned to handle real-time logistics.
If something goes wrong while traveling, we want to be your first call. We can often escalate things mid-stay and have the hotel turn things around to recover the trip. Mid-stay feedback is part of what we do and how we support you while traveling. If we don't know about it until you get home, we can't help fix it on the fly.
Yes. We send a personal VIP note to the hotel ahead of your arrival outlining your preferences, occasion, and any special requests. The property knows you're our client and prepares accordingly.
This is why keeping your preferences updated with us is important — the more we know, the better we can craft your stay. If you'd like to add additional preferences (allergies, anniversaries, room preferences), just let us know.
Tipping standards vary by region. In the US and Caribbean, $5–$10 per bag for porters is customary. For housekeeping, $5–$10 per night is standard, and leaving cash in the room on the day of departure (with a brief thank-you note) is the customary way to do it.
In Europe, tipping is more discretionary — 5–10% at the bar or restaurant if service is exceptional. In Japan and parts of Asia, tipping is generally not expected and can sometimes be considered impolite. Concierge tips at the end of your stay (€20–$100 depending on what they did for you) are always appreciated.
For adventure or expedition travel, private guides typically receive around $100 per day, per room.

We keep credit cards on file for 365 days. If your card expires in our system, we'll be in touch to get the card updated.
Please note that for international bookings, hotel rates may be quoted or reflected in USD (or your local currency) for reference but are ultimately subject to the hotel's local currency and current exchange rates at the time of processing. Exchange rates can fluctuate prior to final payment.
If you prefer to pre-pay in advance to help lock in the current exchange rate (where permitted by the property's policies), please let us know and we're happy to coordinate advanced payment arrangements on your behalf.
Call, text, or WhatsApp — whichever is easiest while you're traveling. We're reachable across time zones.
